Well hello Blockinators, What ride was The Block! Feels like yesterday that we finished the show and what a busy time it has been since then! Tim and Anastasia scored $755K on The Block Triple Threat! Since the show wrapped up, we have continued renovating and have renovated two character homes so far. Along the journey, we have also restored 2 classic cars.  We are about to begin yet another renovation, this time it's our own home... finally! Tim is now a qualified builder for renovations and extensions. This will be useful when we launch our own business, T and A Design and Construct ! Before and after of our most recent renovation!  Our most recent property  hits the market this Monday, so make sure you're following us on Instagram , Twitter   and Facebook  for all the updates on the property!  Happy renovating and Block watching! 😊 Thanks for reading and make sure to stay tuned to The Blockinator Blog for all of your Block info! How we started out...

The Blockinator Blog started back in 2014 after we first visited The Block Triple Threat. We were so excited to have visited the site on the first day of filming and were lucky enough to meet Darren and Dee, who had just come off the back of The Block Glasshouse. Having been exploring Block sites since Fans V Faves and never being able to meet the couples involved, we were left pretty inspired, which led us to create our blog. The Block Fanatics, quickly became a hit and attracted 2000 page views within the first month of launch. The success of the blog only left us even more inspired to continue sharing with other Block fanatics like ourselves. We continued to operate as The Block Fanatics, until roughly April 2015 when The Blockinator Blog began on what used to be The Block Fanatics website. The obsession only continued to expand as we then visited our first open for inspections at The Blocktagon.  We had never previously viewed any Block OFI for ourselves and the

Today we will finally get to see the beginning of The Block Elsternwick and what it will turn out to be. We now know what all the houses look like and are desperately awaiting there arrival onto The Block. Keep reading to see all the before pics and some never before seen inside pictures! HOUSE NO. 1 House No.1 is located on the left hand side of The Block and is the closest house to the fence.  It will be the only house on The Block to have 3 Gables in the roof. The colour scheme at the moment is a light grey and white window framing but during the renovation it will be taken back to being Vivid White as will all the other houses. This house was relocated from 25 Northern Avenue, Brighton East.  Source: @myneighbours_theblock2017 Instagram HOUSE NO. 2 House 2 was recently bought in after House 1 and is the house that we know the least about. The house is white with green accents around the window framings. In its past location it would've been located at number 37

The Block Elsternwick- What We Know!

This season of The Block is set to be one of the most jaw-dropping seasons yet. With the returning component of making the homes feel as though they belong in a Period home while making them still look modern. As well as this, the land is heritage listed meaning that when the build is finished, the Glen Eira heritage officer will also have to undergo observations and conduct a report on each of the homes when they’re completed to make sure that they’re up to scratch be sold as a Period Home.   This season will be very similar to the Season 5 format. They’ll return the eliminations competition in the first week of filming then begin with their final round contestants. They will also return to the highly desired format of renovating homes rather than units or apartments. Viewers were quickly tired of the apartment format but the producers stuck with it because of the difficulty of securing 4-5 vacant home next to each other. But they made the genius decision to relocate homes to th

Addicted to Bargains- Recreate the Block look without the expense!

In October, I was lucky enough to be invited to help style a sanctuary for the amazing non-profit charity, Friends with Dignity (FWD).   The charity assists men, women and children who have been affected by domestic violence and FWD help find a suitable new home for them to move into. I was in charge of selecting all the décor and any additional items for the bedroom, living and dining rooms, bathroom and kitchenette which were all purchased and donated from the stores in the Grand Plaza. We had the luxury of being able to use up to 18 stores to purchase everything we needed. The first room we focused on was the living and dining room.   Because this area was quite compact we didn’t want to overcrowd this space.   This space needed to be functional so we kept it simple yet stylish.   Details of everything we used in the living room are as follows: 1.      Kmart – fern, floor lamp, cushions, throw, geo candle holder, book, rug, wall shelf, pegboard, white canister
